Folksy Handmade - Heather Moors

This time I've been inspired by my Heather Ripple Bird Bath and I've put together a collection of items that have the colours of, or are representing the heather moors, and The Highlands. I love the colour combinations of nature and this is a particularly beautiful one. As usual I've tried to include a range of crafts, and I've got some lovely supplies too.

Folksy Handmade - Blue & Yellow Garden

This Folksy Friday is a colour themed garden for having a pot of tea in. There's some lovely blue and yellow garden decorations and ornament to surround you, as you sit on your blue tit embroidered cushion, pouring tea that's been kept warm by your crocheted tea cosy, into your handmade, and painted mug. There's even a garden birds tea towel to help you identify the birds you see and then dry the mug and teapot when you wash them up. Perfect.

The Highlands In Your Garden

This is the latest version of my Ripple Bird Bath design. This one is inspired by the colours of heather moorland under a brooding sky. I've used purples, greens, and grey blues in this palette. The stones are Scottish pebbles and are stacked like a cairn, and there is a ripple of iridescent tiles next to them, and a ripple of clear heather glass to add depth and interest to the design.

Folksy Handmade - Japan

This Folksy Friday collection was inspired by my Water Lily Bird Bath which has a touch of the Orient about it as the angular shapes used give an origami feel to the design. Looking around on Folksy to add to this collection there were loads of things to choose from. You could actually makeover a whole house in an oriental, Japanese style if you wanted. And your garden too, of course.

The shops link menu can be found below the gallery (2012 FF Pinterest board is on the Folksy Handmade link).

Folksy Handmade - Fairies and Elves

Have you got fairies at the bottom of your garden? For today's Folksy Friday I've collected together a few home comforts for them, including a mushroom to sit on, a fairy inn and a even a doormat for their own door, and there's also a few friends to join them too.

The shop link gallery is below the pics as usual -

Wildlife Mosaic

I've created a couple more of my mosaic Dragonfly and Bee designs. This time on some fab slate paddlestones. The colours of the slate really come out when they are wet. The purple slate becomes a gorgeous dark plum. The grey slate becomes mottled with a pastel green. They look really good. The mosaic dragonfly has misty grey wings with pastel pink, blue and green in some light angles. But when the light catches them just right they shine with metallic blue, magenta and gold. The bee has translucent blue wings that shine electric blue and gold.
