Coral Reef Mosaic Bird Bath

Coral Reef Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

Now your garden birds can take a dip on a Coral Reef. There are brightly coloured tropical fish swimming against the shimmering water made with four shades of aqua blues and see greens. A bit of fun for the garden, and great for adding a splash of colour.

Tudor Rose Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

Tudor Rose Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

Can you smell the topiary? Hear the lute playing as you stroll round your garden? This evocative design bird bath will help transport you there. The mosaic Tudor Rose in the centre with a deep blue background with stylised leaves and buds is a lovely clean, crisp look that would suit any style of garden.

Summer Daisies Mosaic Garden Sphere

Summer Daisies Mosaic Garden Sphere Decoration
I've been meaning to make a garden ball for a while now after it was suggested that one of my rose designs would look good as one. In the end I decided to adapt another of my designs to make this Summer Daisies Mosaic Garden Sphere. It's come out really well. A perfect little ball of summer to add colour to your garden in a border, as a lawn ornament, or on a patio, you could even use it as decoration indoors. All the butterflies are iridescent to add metallic shine to the design as well as the bold red and orange colours. I think I'm going to end up making one of these for myself. And I can definitely see me trying more sphere designs. They are actually very relaxing to make, considering the shape.

Time To Update

January and February are my time to start getting some of the designs I've thought of in the Xmas run up created. There's no time to make anything new in those weeks before Christmas, but when I'm really busy that's when inspiration starts hitting. So I've got a scrappy bit of paper with a list of designs I want to make, and I've started working my way through them.

First up are these two updated version of designs I've made before. I wanted to try the Elements design with a black background as I've started to use black grout a bit on certain colour palettes. The idea was to have a super contrast of rainbow to make it look like sparkly layers of crystals in rock. Like diamond seems in coal.

The second updated design is the Fish Shoal. I've made this before just in blues and  greens, this time I wanted to add splashes of bright colour in, and what better to do that with than bright orange goldfish.

Roses Mosaic Bird Bath

Pink Roses Mosaic Garden Bird Bath
After making a hanging heart with this new design on, I thought it would work well in a bird bath too. And it did. A few people are saying this design has a Mackintosh feel about it. I think that's the black grout I've used this time because the tiles are quite pale in colour so would get a bit lost in the usual grey I use. So, after the heart and bird bath in pink roses, I think I can feel a different colour version coming next. I love the new year. I think it's when the Xmas rush of making lots of current designs is over, and I finally get a chance to think straight, then all the new ideas I had half thought out when I was in a making frenzy come flooding out. Follow me over on Facebook to see these new ideas taking shape and get notification when they are added to my website too.

Wildlife Water Dishes, Bird Baths and Plaques

25cm Owl Bird Bath and 21cm Moonlight Hedgehog Water Dish
25cm Hanging Wall Plaque & 17cm Owl Water Dish

Hedgehog Water Dishes & Plaques
A gang of hedgehogs and owls have invaded my website. There are 17cm water dishes, which are great for leaving fresh water out for your garden wildlife. Then there are 21cm water dishes, that are a tiny bit deeper so will be good as small bird baths too. Then there's the 25cm bird baths that are great for small and larger birds too. The hedgehog design comes in three colours, and all of the hedgehog and owl designs can be made into wall hanging plaques too. Something for any wildlife, nature and garden lover.

Nature's Palette

I haven't done one of these for ages. This collection from Folksy.com was inspired by the photo of the Peacock Butterfly that I found on Folksy by accident. But the colours were so perfect, I thought I'd make a Folksy Finds Pinterest board around it. Click on the pic to visit the shop for more info.

Three Dragonflies Jade Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

Three Dragonflies Jade Mosaic Garden Bird Bath

After creating the Three Bees bird bath design, I decided to make one using a dragonfly mosaic design that I've used in the past on slate garden ornaments. I had some really nice green iridescent tiles that I wanted to use for the wings, so I created the Three Dragonfly palette around those tiles using other shades of green, including mint, and jade to tie it all together. The resulting pattern is very relaxing on the eye, like the bee design is. The muted colours, circles, and flowing design all help create the relaxing feel to the bird bath. The circles also have the look of a stained glass window too, which is also very pleasing on the eye. I really like this design. I hope you do too.

Folksy Handmade - Practical Mothers Day Flowers

Ditsy Daisy Flower & Mug Set
JoSara

Following on from my practical flowers selection for Valentine's Day, I've decided to do a practical flowers selection for Mother's Day (which is only 2 weeks away now). Things with flowers on that can be used whenever you want, a perfect, and longer lasting, alternative to a bunch of flowers.

Too narrow it down a bit, because there was so much to choose from, I've gone for a colour palette that matches my new mug and flower pot set. There's some fab things here, so if you're not buying for Mother's Day, how about just treating yourself? And all of these things would make great gifts at any time of year for a flower lover.

Folksy Handmade - Mother's Day Custom Makes

Pastel Daisy Mosaic Bird Bath
JoSara
Did you know that Mother's Day is a full 2 weeks earlier this year than last year? 10th March this year, 25th last year. I know a lot of people like to wait for the actual month that an event falls in to buy their present, but as it's so early this year, it may need planning a bit earlier than usual. A lot of my designs are Custom Makes and they are quite popular Mother's Day gifts. There are a lot more Folksy shops who Custom Make too. So for this week's Folksy Friday I have a selection of possible Mother's Day gifts that are Custom Makes. The sooner you order, the longer the seller will have to make and send, and you'll receive the perfect Mother's Day gift in plenty of time to make your mum's day.
