Butterflies on Stone Mosaic Garden Decoration

A bit of mixed media added to my website today. The Butterflies on Stone Mosaic Hanging Decoration. The stones have hand painted butterflies on them. I've used layers of paint to create an interesting effect and to give them a metallic shine. The stones are then set into a mosaic on a hand cut base which has had a wire hanger added to it. The mosaic is made with shades of turquoise, blue and green and finished with a grey grout to bring the stones into the design. The back is painted with a sky blue weatherproof paint. All the materials used are weatherproof so the ornament could be used all year in the garden. But I think it would also look fab indoors, maybe in a bathroom.

Aqua Glass Heart Pot Decoration

These mosaic garden plant pot shaped decorations are designed to hang flush against a fence, or on a shed, or wall. They both have a translucent glass heart sitting proud of the mosaic so the light can shine through it. The hearts are both surrounded by complimenting iridescent tiles that have a metallic finish.

Green Glass Heart Pot Decoration

The green pot has a pea green rim, and bands of apple and mint greens on the pot. The aqua pot has a dark sea rim, with bands of light sea and turquoise on the pot. Both pots are tiled on all sides, but the reverse of each pot has been left unfinished, as it's designed not to be seen.

Well, mostly white. There's a bit of cream, clear glass, and a tiny bit of red and green. All white would be a bit much, wouldn't it?

Clear seed beads give the effect of ice crystals

I've chosen the white theme to go with my (off-white) Wool and Bead Snowflake Hangers. I was originally trying out wool flower designs to maybe use on a cushion, but this type of looped flower immediately reminded me of stylised snowflakes. I've added some clear seed beads to the centres to give an ice crystal effect, and then strung them onto clear filament to make them look like they were floating. I've beaded both sides of the snowflakes, so they would make great window hanging decorations.
