Folksy Handmade - Shapes

I was trying to think of a theme for this week's Folksy Friday, as I've been doing gift idea lists. I started off with a funky brights train of thought. Then I came across a couple of items that the patterns gave me the new idea of shapes. All these items have designs made with shapes, and a lot of them are bright and colourful too, so still fit my funky brights original idea. These would make great gifts for anyone that likes lots of colour, or clean, retro design. Like me. :  )

Mosaic Bumblebee with iridescent wings

The latest listing to my shop is this mosaic bumblebee with rose pink daisies on a purple slate paddlestone. The bee's wings are iridescent so shine with metallic colours in certain light angles. And the daisy flowers have translucent mauve glass centres to match the plum slate. This decoration would look great placed in a bee border, or near a plant that the bees love. The help you along, this decoration comes with a packet of bee flower seeds.

Folksy Handmade - Men!

This week's Folksy Friday is another gift idea selection, and it's a theme that seems to be a bit of a struggle for a lot of people. What to buy the fellas. I've tried to collect together a range of prices and styles so there should be an idea or two here for what to get most blokes - dads, brothers, OH's, and the rest. Most of the difficult to buy for fellas have to shave. Or if they don't, they can't object to a nice, warm, muted colour scarf. Surely? Men!

(p.s. I collected this lot at the start of the week, before Folksy decided to send out a flipping email with their massive collection of gifts for men. Mind you, I think there's only one of the shops I've got items from on their list, so this Folksy Friday is even more choice for you.)

And I like the idea of a craft being used to create the design. This is my latest listing, a set of four Christmas Tree Suncatcher Cards. The design is handpainted onto clear acetate with translucent paint so when the light shines through the card the baubles light up and become jewel  -like. I am really enjoying experimenting with these suncatcher cards. They are something a bit different from the norm, and should light up the recipient's day.
